Project Runway: 411

***Warning***

I am refusing to look at the final collections that showed at Bryant Park. If you mention any of them in the comments, I will end your life. I refuse to be spoiled. Also, I will subject you to pure torture by locking you in a tiny room with Christian’s annoying ass and he will just blabber on about how fierce he is the whole time. Or if you for some reason like Christian, I will replace him with Victorya who will bore you to tears with her blandness.

We are almost at the end. This is the episode where it was decided who showed at Bryant Park (even though we all know everyone showed. lame.).  We get a great challenge this time, something fun and interesting. No stupid gimmicks like last episode. Of course, Heidi asks if they are ready for the challenge and of course, the designers say yes. Of course, Heidi then tells them too bad, you’re going on a field trip to find out! Of course they act shocked that she won’t tell them. Fortunately, when they do find Tim, Christian doesn’t ask if they are going somewhere fabulous.

This week’s challenge is about being inspired by art so the designers are given cameras and access to 3 galleries in the Met. They must choose a piece to base their design off of. Interesting, no? They are stepping it up with judges though, dude. Roberto Cavalli? I let out a little gasp and a squeal when I seen him, no lie, ask the boyfriend. I really thought he would have been more of a hard ass though, he was actually very sweet.

Sweet P, miss underdog herself, picked a beautiful piece with a peacock. I could have thought of a million things to do with this. Her dress was definitely lacking. There was so much potential with what her inspiration was. I’ve been routing for Sweet P, but this was very disappointing.

Go figure the designers give them the Greek and Roman galleries as one option. Seriously. I know you think you are clever and all that Project Runway people, but come on. You’re going to let Rami loose in that gallery, when you are hoping he will break out of his draping mold for once this competition?  Secretly, you must have been thinking how daft he is, because in his mind, you just gave him permission to drape his little heart out. You know he wouldn’t step out of his pleated and draped world. You know he would put out another gown. I think it was all part of your plan. Moved by Aphrodite? No, Rami, all you know how to do is fucking drape. You weren’t moved, maybe it was something you ate.

Christian has chosen some kind of Spanish conquistador like painting and comes up with what else? Puffs and ruffles.  Christian is very talented, there is no denying it. Like Rami, he is one note to me. Jackets with puff sleeve and bib shirts or jackets with high necks, verticle lines and cropped. Some variation of that is included in almost every design he has done. In this case, it was a white ruffle shirt with puff sleeves, bibbed pleated vest thingy. He needs to break out of the box as much as Rami. Rami is just a little more boring. Christian is OMG EDGY YOUNG HIPSTER, so people swoon. No thanks.

Chris’ dress was dramatic, very couture. Unfortunately, we just seen that dress a few weeks ago, just in beige and with ruffles. Mr. Roberto Cavalli loved it and told him he could see him showing in Paris. Then again he wasn’t there weeks ago when he made the first dress.

Finally, we have Jillian who had Master of the Argonauts as her inspiration. I loved what she did. It was a wearable, hip dress, that was definitely inspired. Jillian’s pieces are always almost flawless down to the detail. She is horrible with time management, but she always turns it out. She is the only one who really, like Heidi said, surprises them. She’s bold and you never really know what you are going to get.

Christian is declared the winner. Blah blah blah. First one out is Sweet P. I was sad to see her go. I was routing for her, hoping she would have pulled it off. No one thought she was going to come this far when the show started, she surprised everyone. Truly, the underdog. With this one, I honestly thought Rami was out. The judges said it themselves, it is the same shit with him.  What do these assholes go and do? Picked 4 people, exactly what I hoped they wouldn’t do. Heidi then goes on to explain how both Rami and Chris won’t be in the final competition, that they will have to duke it out with 3 of their best pieces to make it to the final round. Bullshit, I say. Suck it up and choose for godsakes.

So who is ready for 12 13, draped gowns and “edgy” Christian designs?

Jillian FTW

I have watched PR from season 1 and love love love it. Probably because I know I don’t hold an ounce of talent compared to these folks. Even the crappy ones. Sweet P had a foot and a half out the door for the past month. Seriously, nice gal, love the tats, but her stuff just doesn’t compare to the other designers. I hate hate hate Christian, but you’ve got to admit he does some flawless pieces, particularly given he’s so young. Actually, I’m stoked with the final 4 – they all deserve to be there. Can’t wait for the reunion show next week!

Agreed on Sweet P, I would have rather seen her than Christian or Rami though!

I’m so over Jillian and her lack of time management and whining. I can only imagine the chaos that happens when Tim Gunn shows up at her house to check her progress and, shock me, she’ll be completely behind schedule and won’t have anything to show him. Wah wah, cry me a river. I’m a huge Christian fan. And I love Rami’s non-drapey stuff, when he actually does manage to pull that out. Sweet P should have been gone a loooooong time ago.

I think Jillian will win it too.

I think Christian might have an interesting collection to show…I might just have to mute his ass while it shows because if I have to hear 20 minutes of how fierce his clothes are and how fierce he did his hair, I will scream.

I was so mad – what a cop-out picking Chris and Rami to do collections! I’ll be curious to see if Rami can do anything other than drapes or pleats.

i’m totally rooting for jillian. i love her.
and i think the ending was ridiculous this season. telling both of them to spend 3 months making a collection and then only one gets to show?!
and where are you people all finding out that everyone showed? i’d rather be left in the dark :)

I like Jillian with her mouth closed. If only her personality matched her designs!!! I really REALLY hope they pick Chris over Rami to be at Bryant Park… I don’t want to look at a runway full of draping!! I could go to a curtain store for that!!

Christian just makes me laugh… and I was sad to see Sweet P go. She was a little nutso, but I loved her.

Can’t wait for the recap show next week when they start bashing each other. It looks like in the show Heidi calls Victorya uptight or something? I wonder who wins the fan favorite. I bet it’s Elysa cause she’s on Planet Zog.

why do reality show people always act so surprised when they’re not told everything? It’s so annoying. Obviously, they must be told to act like that.

I wanted Rami to go so very badly! But truth be told his Aphrodite dress is the most beautiful he’s done all season. I just hate him with his smugness.

And yes Jillian for the win!

I loved Sweet P and I was sad to see her go. But honestly, that dress? It looked nothing like a Peacock and It looked like something I made in my 7th grade sowing class.

Of course I love Christian and I am really pulling for him to win. I thought what he did was great last night, not really something I like, but I thought he did a fierce job.

Rami needs to STOP IT with the drapping. It was his chance to say yes I could do the drapping like you thought I would, but instead I am going to surprise you. But he didn’t and he should have gone.

Chris, not much to say here. I liked his dress, but he kind of bores me.

Jillian, I like her. I think she is a bit of a whiner, but I think she turns out some great work. I think it’s between her and Christian to win. I, of course, want Christian to win, but I will be happy if Jill wins too.

I love your recaps! I was routing for Sweet P to get into the final round’ her dress was just crap though. Rami is talented, but you’re right. It’s the same shit every week. Those judges should make him try and do something different. Rami is so ONE dimensional. It’s like the avant garde dress when Tim said it was the same damn thing and Rami interjected that he hasn’t done a corset in the competition, yet it’s still f*ing draped!!!

I like Jillian’s designs the most. I think they are the most wearable. I think she’ll win.

i wont ruin it for you, having already seen pics of the runways…

but last night when i saw Cavali, i too was like “ooooh cavaaaalllliiii” in a breathless whisper and OM was all “whos that?” and after about a 15 minute dissertation of the man’s amazingness covering his prints, his colours, his designs, his knowledge of the female frame and his impact on the industry, OM rolled his eyes and went back reading his sports illustrated.

I was shocked at Roberto too! I thought he was very nice. I was glad he didn’t rip anyone to pieces, even though Sweet P’s dress was not the best (I was rooting for her too). I thought the EXACT same thing about Rami. Those producers, man. Jillian’s was my favorite, though her personality is off-putting to and I don’t necessary favor her, but she’s clearly the best to me.

This whole season has just majorly sucked to me. All these over the top, irrelevant challenges that have nothing to do with the kind of design clothing designers do. Dumb.

I was totally anti-Christian until this week. I agree with Nina and Michael’s comments- he gets it. If only he didn’t have to remind us every 6 seconds of that fact.

I just watched the episode last night and I literally SQUEALED when Chris made it through to the end. SQUEALED.

All along I assumed the other 3 would make it to Bryant Park. But I have falled in love with Chris since he returned (and totally stepped it up). I’m a Jillian fan though and think she should ultimatley win.
