Project Runway so far

August 25th, 2008 at 4:24 pm . Posted in Project Runway, tv .

Some of you know I use to recap Project Runway weekly. Well this season rolled around and I wasn’t really interested in recaps. I’m definitely still watching though! Inspired by a conversation with Alexa earlier today, I thought maybe since we are five episodes in, I’d post a few thoughts on some of the designers and the outfits that have stuck out in my head.

So honestly, this far the designers come to mind first are Leanne, Kenley, Keith, Suede, Blaine, Terri, Koto and Stella. My favorites are Leanne and Korto. Least favorites are….care to take a guess? Blayne-licious and Keith.

Leanne‘s design aesthetic is gorgeous. I would wear most of what she has made so far. She also sells on etsy which is very cool. It seems like when she is on she is awesome but when she’s off it’s pretty bad. I loved this design of hers thouh. LOVED.

In the first episode, Korto made a kimono out of a tablecloth and some vegetables, that set the stage. I knew I was going to like her. Her Olympics design was great she was one of the only people who got it and didn’t make a fucking SKORT. This inside-out shit was bad though. Very bad. The design below was stylish and sexy and the only pants outfit

Keith has been pissing me off. The attitude and the stringy swatchey piecy shit? Not a good look. It makes your tiny model look like she has no body. It’s sloppy and just not cute. Get a new idea, dude. Apparently, he has many ways of approaching the torn up fabric so I really doubt that will be the last of it.

As for Blayne-licious? We all know he is just there for entertainment or annoying value. Licious is never going to happen though, Blayne, kind of like fetch. It’s just not gonna happen! We know you want to be the next Christian with FIERCE and all though fierce got annoying it wasn’t as fucking stupid as “licious”. Then there is always the factor that Christian had talent, while Blayne only has neon colors and asymmetrical lines. Case in point:

Let’s see…how about Jerell? First off, the dude looks like he is homeless and wearing rags all the time. Second of all, this:

That is some Little Miss Muffet sat on a tuffet crap. Seriously, what in the fuck was going through your head? I am DYING to know. A big fat FAIL to you, sir. He did redeem himself with Ms. Leath-uh, herself, Stella in the Welcome to the Jungle challenge. I love how all the textures came together in this outfit.

Oh yes and then we have the skort that Joe made. A fucking skort? I really have no words.

Ugh, this season is kind of making me insane but doesn’t all television? Wait until Top Model starts and then I will be on a freaking rampage. I’m sure I’ll have much more to say about Project Runway soon, no worries!

    Yay! I love your recaps!

I hate Keith. I think that he makes that stupid fringe stuff because he doesn’t know shit about construction. Either that or he has zero taste. Either way? I hate him.

Did you notice in the drag challenge that Blayne also tried to pull a Christian by asking everyone what their drag name would be? You mean your WWE diva name, right Blayne?

I’m hoping for a double elimination of Blayne and Keith this week.

i love leanne & korto as well!!!

i don’t believe jerrell is going to get much further in the competition but i definetly wanna hang out with him in real life, because the dude is hilarious.

stell-uh & her leath-uh are too much sometimes. there was one episode where she said “leath-uh” at least 17 times. we get it.

unfortunately, keith’s signature “fraying” (or is it “fringing?”) technique doesn’t work quite as well as rami’s signature “draping” technique because rami didn’t have to contend with a consistent butt-ugly quality to his garments as frequently as keith does.

I’m really not enjoying this season! I think it’s because I don’t have a favorite yet, as I don’t really like any of the designers. All have failed me! But, yeah, Keith is terrible and should go, as should Stella and Blaine, but really just because they’re annoying to hear.

    Bleh.

I can not even wait until next season when it moves to WE (or Lifetime, now I forget) but either way. I don’t get Bravo and haven’t seen it since the first season. I’m dying for a bit of Project Runway!

Leanne and Kenley are my favorites. I love their styles and personalities. Blayne tries too hard to be a stand out character and its just annoying.

I’m liking the new season but honestly I’m underwhelmed a bit too. There just isn’t the stand-out talent of last time although Suede and Blaine are at least entertaining.

I’m not the biggest fan of this season. I’ve been more excited about the guest judges than anything else. Blayne, Keith and Suede all annoy me although if Suede could just use first person, I think I’d like him just fine. Leanne and Korto are my favorites as well.

    LEATH-UH!!!

Also, I heart Kenley’s personal style + her name, but am not fully convinced yet on her abilities/range. I wish I looked as put-together as she always does!

I think the reason I dislike Blaine so much is because he seems to be working SO HARD to have the catch phrase of the season.

Blaine…OMG. How annoying is he. “Blaine-licious! Holla atcha’ boy!” UGH. I agree with you about Leanne’s black dress – so gorgeous! That skirt was awesome. I am so glad that bitch boy left last week. What was his name? Daniel? Ugh. He seriously was a little bitch all the time. I couldn’t deal.

Yeah, the people aren’t quite as fun this season, but it’s been pretty entertaining. And can I just say that it’s about time they did a drag queen challenge? Took them long enough. But holy crap, Rupaul didn’t look so hot!

Also… Joe has really started pissing me off. He’s a decent designer, but I got pissed off when he made the comment that “there’s too much drama because there’s too many queens around”, since he started the drama and he was a jerk about it. Granted, Daniel was annoying, but geeze, what a jerk.
