nkotb brings everyone together.

So when I returned to my blog Sunday night and saw the post Jamie had taken over with I knew exactly what I had to post on her blog today. Oh and in case you didn’t guess, this is Katelin from gorgeous footsteps in the sand… bringing joy and more NKOTB awesomeness to the wonderful world of lovely.

Now if you’ve never read my blog you might wonder what NKOTB awesomeness I speak of (and by NKOTB I mean New Kids on the Block of course) so let me enlighten you. From the wee age of who knows when I became a New Kids fan. I was probably five when they were at the height of their world domination and let me tell you, I was not one to be left behind. I got the shirts, the VHS tapes, the casettes, the Barbie dolls, the lunch boxes, the beach towels, bed sheets, yeah I had it all….it was slightly ridiculous. And sadly once the bad broke up, my love for them slowly faded away.

However! Ever since my airport run in with my all time fave New Kid Jordan in March, I have been rehooked!

And with a comeback tour, a new CD, a VH1 Behind the Music oh my gosh I just can’t stop. Every time I turn around I’m reminded of how awesome they are and I really can’t stop.

It also doesn’t help that my mom decided to pass along these two gems and remind me of my true fandom:

Oh boy.

Anything you’re an uber fan of?

David Bowie. I don’t care that he’s 61, he’s still the most attractive guy on the planet!
… at least in his Jareth incarnation. :)

I somehow missed out on the NKOTB mania, I was more of a BSB girl.

I do love the NKOTB new cd though. It’s really good!

I was in love with NKOTB…Joey was my fav! I also loved Jonathan Brandis from the movie Ladybugs. I was so sad when he died (I was in college, the crush was over and I still cried).

i fell in love with NKOTB because my older sister was crazy obsessed. we shared a room which meant that she got to decorate. that meant wall to wall NKOTB. I didn’t have a say because she was the older sister.

i personally had a big thing for Kris Kross, until i realized that they weren’t very good rappers.

At the Cleveland show, I tried my best to score backstage passes for it. I was determined but fell short. The concert was a blast – who knew my friends and I would have so much fun reliving our pre-teens.

Too funny lol – unfortunately I was too young to get caught up on the NKOTB craze. I was old enough to find Nsync and The Backstreet Boys entirely dreamy though. However I’m not nearly as bad as my fiance who is outright obsessed with Taylor Swift. He’s a grown man and he has no problem singing “Love Story” at the top of his lungs in the shower. What’s a girl to do?
