so that was christmas?

December 29th, 2008 at 12:25 pm . Posted in Christmas, internin' .

Basically, I spent Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with my stomach revolting against my poor body. I didn’t go to either of my Grandmas’ houses. I didn’t partake in Christmas dinner. I did not eat tamales.

TAMALES, PEOPLE.

I did not eat them.

That is fucking huge. If you don’t know, tamales are the whole point of Christmas. Seriously.

My Christmas was a big fail. Well at least when it came to the whole family and togetherness shit that I wasn’t even up for as it was. What was not a fail though, were my gifts. You can’t go wrong with Wall-E, money and Britney Spears tickets.

Yup, I’m going to see Britney! The boy got me tickets for Christmas! Yay me!

Right now, I’m at the internship working on some stuff. I know I’ve been all hush hush and super secret about this but that’s all about to end. I’ll be unleashing my project (well part of it) into blog world and twitter later today or tomorrow.

Get excited!

How were your Holidays? Also, tell me how excited you are for my super awesome project. It’ll make the boss man happy to see some interest.

Or just lie and pretend your interested.

Cool?

Cool.

I’m sorry you were sick for the holidays! This was my first Christmas in YEARS where I wasn’t the one balled up in the fetal position in a corner with some sort of flu or illness or another. I can totally sympathize with how you felt!

My Christmas was tons of greatness. I got to hang out with family, have a few drinks with my mom and sister, teach my mom how to play poker, cooked an 18lb turkey for three people, and got everything that I asked for (not much, but enough to please me!). All in all,it was a success!

And I’m glad that you’re feeling better – sickness over the holidays is the worst. Lucky for you, tamales can be made into the whole point of New Years.

Sorry you were sick, but hopefully you feel better now and can eat some better-late-than-never tamales (never had ‘em, are they good?).

Awww. I am so sorry you were sick. I was sick too, it’s weird. I tend to get sick on Christmas day.

I miss Tamales. From San Antonio, and now I live in Seattle. Not many authentic places around here.

Now I want Tamales… Sorry you didn’t have the stomach for any. :( A few years back, my Christmas dinner consisted of a single cookie and pepto-bismol, while I had my head in the toilet… Sucks being sick at Christmas.

I’m happy you got some nice stuff, though! I’m not a Britney fan, but from what I gather, she can put on a concert show like nobody’s business!

I secretly love Britney Spears, and have been fan of hers since she first came out. I went to one of her first concerts and while it was cheesy as all hell, my 13 year old self loved it. I wish I could go to her show now, but the concert in San Jose is all sold out :( Go and have fun!

You know? My counsin came to El Salvador about 4 years ago and he was pretty sick. So, he went to the doctor and he gave him a list of the things he couldn’t eat. When the doctor was done, my cousin asked “What about tamales?”… The doctor just laughed and told him he could it as many tamales as he wanted.

    Just reminded me of you.

Aw, sad you were sick and sad you were missing out on tamales! When my hispanic stepmother made them last time, I was hungover and could barely eat them. They’re so good, she makes sweey and also spicy ones.

Can’t wait to hear about your project!

I spent my holidays with my Husband’s Polish/Irish family in PA. Meanwhile, my parents had tamales in CA. I never really felt the Christmas spirit, and I blame lack of tamales.
I’m so jealous of your tickets!! I have left not so subtle hints to Husband that I wanted tickets, even went as far as to email him the link and a password for early ticket sales. My hints were ignored. Although in fairness to him, he knows I’d make him go with me so I’m sure he was trying to avoid it. Self preservation, and all that.
